Peter Foy redefined stage flying with his introduction of the Inter-Related Pendulum and the dynamic aerial sequences he developed for Mary Martin’s Peter Pan on Broadway in 1954, two live NBC broadcasts (in1955 and 1956) and a videotaped version produced in 1960. In the years since, Foy has flown Peter Pan in thousands of regional and international productions, and two Broadway revivals: one with Sandy Duncan (1979-81) and one with Cathy Rigby (1990-91). On December 4, 2014, NBC aired the first live telecast of the musical in nearly six decades, also featuring Flying by Foy. For Peter Pan Live, Foy created the first fully-automated series of flying sequences – another artistic milestone in the show’s long and storied production history.
